The largest Australian butterfly is the female Cairns Birdwing : Triodes euphorion, with a wingspan up to 20 cms.
The largest Australian moth is the female Hercules Moth : Coscinocera hercules, with a wingspan up to 27 cms.
The largest Australian caterpillar is that of the White Stemmed Gum Moth : Chelepteryx collesi with a length up to 13 cms.
