The adult moths of this species have fawn fore wings with a complex pattern of light and dark markings. Each forewing also has a small white dot with a black outline near the centre. The hind wings are buff with three broken dark bands parallel to the margin. The abdomen is banded with light and dark shades of grey. The moths have a wingspan of about 8 cms.

The species is found inland in the northern half of Australia, including:

New South Wales.
