The adult moth has brown wings with zigzag markings, and a dark spot near the centre of each wing. Various individuals have different degrees of contrast in the markings. The moths have a wingspan of about 2 cms.

The eggs are off-white and ellipsoidal. They are laid in disorganised strings.

The species is found over most of Australia including Tasmania.
