The adult moth of this species is spectacular. It has grey forewings each with a yellow apex, a white spot on the margin, and two midwing white spots with red centres. The hindwings are orange. The head and thorax are orange, and the abdomen red with a brown last segment bearing a tuft of white hairs. The moth has a wingspan of about 6 cms.
