The Caterpillars of this species are a pest as they bore into the stems and damage :

  • Tobacco ( Nicotiana tabacum, SOLANACEAE ).

    The adult moths have pale brown forewings and white hindwings, the latter having a wide fringe of hairs along the inner margin.
