These caterpillars live in tunnels in the ground, and emerge at night to feed on nearby vegetation.

The adult moths of this species have brown forewings with a pattern of dark spots, and plain brown hindwings.

The female lays eggs while in flight, fluttering amongst low level vegetation.

The species is found in Tasmania and Victoria.
