The adult moth of this species has grey forewings, with broken dark lines along them forming a dark band across each one. The hindwings are grey. The wingspan is about 6 cms.

In Victoria, specimens have been caught in Dandenong and Mitcham (both urban Melbourne) as well as Stratford and Gippsland. In New South Wales, specimens have been caught in Narara, Richmond and Sydney.
